Fall Is For Me!

There is something so inspiring about beautiful fall days.  I suppose a big part of this year's fall blessings are due to the fact we had to endure an extremely hot humid summer.   The crisp air we are experiencing here in New England has cleared my head and sparked so much creativity and desire to make absolutely everything in my home gorgeous.

I hope you enjoy how I have decorated my home for fall.

First a shot of our new house (we moved in January and I don't think I ever shared a view of the exterior).  This pic is recently after we moved in on a wintery day.  The vines across the front porch are stunning wisteria.

Here is a pic of the wisteria in the spring

My favorite exterior pic of my main staircase window

Spring pic of the same window

Now onto my post....here is my living room mantel.  I have core items on my mantel and just embellish with each season.  I've only added a leaf garland and a fall candle this season.

I am so excited with my fall coffee table and the whimsical velvet leopard pumpkin that plays so well off of my area rug!  I found the wooden acorns years ago and painted the acorn fruit different shades of green.  My MeloRipe Boston Fruit Company Banana Box I had turned into a coffee table a few years back.   So fun!

My first set of antler anything!  These are faux antler candle sticks and I am so happy I go them (Craigslist).  They add a nice organic texture.

Pardon all the glare on the cloche!

I found this lovely old couple while out and about antiquing one day and just had to have them.  So much wool, corduroy & pure warmth.  No second thoughts when I spotted them.

Here is an example of my shopping prowess, $4 fall arrangement on the right from Goodwill (gorgeous!), $215 cherub clock from France (gorgeous!).  It's all about balance!

Let's step outside to my quaint back porch.....
Shelf is Lane via Craigslist, crown is Homegoods, garland is Goodwill, pots are a consignment find, enamel number tags are from France via Etsy:  Faded Charm

This is a beautiful hand painted and signed petite china hutch.  The top shelf is part of a collection of Deruta pottery espresso cups and saucers given to me by a dear Aunt.  The rest are vintage finds, the squash are compliments of Hobby Lobby.

One of my favorite creations for the porch table centerpiece.

  1. Hi, Lisa ~
Welcome back to blogging! Now that you are settled in your gorgeous house, perhaps you'll post more often?? :) And what a house, btw! Absolutely beautiful and very grand!! Can you tell us again what year it was built? Your fall decor looks wonderful with all that rich woodwork - so warm and festive. Again, glad to see you back.

    1. Hi Loi -
That is the plan....to post more! I'm glad you appreciate what little I have shown of my house. I will be posting more and more of the house. It was built in 1902 and we feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon it's beauty. Working with son soon to update my header (and learn how to do it myself so I don't have to keep relying on him).
Thanks for your fun giveaway, I am looking forward to the 25th. Keeping my fingers crossed...
